Why Is Apple Reducing AirPods Production For The Year 2021

A recent report by Apple was showcasing that the tech giant will be reducing its AirPods

production due to various reasons. Due to the lower demand in the market, the company has

decided to lower the per day manufacturing capacity and wait till a need in the market is the

scene for it. Though during its launch year which was 2016, AirPods were one of the hottest

tech gear out in the market in recent times it has been seen that they are slowly losing their flare

due to various reasons.

The reasons surrounding it are:

● Cheap Versions Introduced

After the launch of these out-the-world wireless technology, many small companies got

into the race of making cheaper versions of them. Hence, the market saw a flood of

similar products from various outlets that were selling them AirPods-like products at a

very cheap price. Even though they were not able to match the quality provided by Apple

some were able to replicate the design and hence, were able to fool many buyers into

thinking that they were buying a good product.

● Highly Competitive Market

Apple sure is the pioneer of coming out with the design of AirDopes but other

technocratic companies like Samsung, Xiaomi and others were not behind in innovating

on it. The whole headphones and earphones industry is filled with various types of

wireless Bluetooth headsets today that are made by some of the top companies. Hence,

the audience got attracted to them and led to the slowdown in the sales of AirPods.

From a bigger picture, it seems that Apple has taken the right decision by decreasing their

shipments and manufacturing as they are also planning on releasing a better version of AirPods

this year and need to focus on that. It has been said that the supply might drop by thirty percent

and will not be affecting the market to that level as the product demand is low.

Even with the soaring sales of AirPods, Macs and iPads are seen to be having a huge demand

rush due to work from home normal that has been introduced in many economies due to the

pandemic. Many Apple lovers are right now eagerly waiting for the new launches from the

company with the hope to find a better version of AirPods.
