Apple has started working on this feature of Maps street view and along with excitement many
people are also having concerns regarding it. Google was the first one to launch a realistic
street view of maps and as much as it was appreciated, it was also criticized as the whole plan
was seen to invade people’s personal space by showcasing their properties or vehicles without
any consent. While Google’s product is called Google Maps, the one being made by Apple is
called Look Around.
It seems that Apple will first start off by doing a survey in Hong Kong islands like Kowloon and
will move towards the mainland by the next month. The feature that has been promised in Apple
Maps which everyone is eagerly waiting for is the 3D virtual view that it can provide, even
though Google maps does a decent job with this thing but as Apple is one of the top brands
when it comes to supplying quality services to its clients, better and clearer view is being
expected from their side.
Apple has also promised that it will keep in mind the privacy of all the local people and hence,
will introduce various features in the map through which their Street Map View App will be
automatically able to blur out any faces or vehicle’s number plate if they get showcased. If due
to any glitch or error the face or any other thing that might be personal gets into the view then
the person can request it to be omitted, before the official launch.
The above variant can actually make Apple’s street view a tough competitor for Google and only
after the launch of Apple’s app it is to be seen what becomes more popular among the masses.
As with most of Apple’s apps, this one might also be available only for IOS users and not
android ones.
The final dates for the launch of this street view have not been announced yet, but most
probably it will be released by the end of this year or in the next year, along with other
spectacular apps and gadgets of Apple.
